Follow the lifeboat as it launches to help people in trouble at sea.

This real-world rhyming story takes children on an authentic rescue mission, following the lifeboat crew as they respond to an emergency on the water. Along the way, they discover how lifeboats, volunteers and other rescue services work together to help keep people safe.

Written especially for children who love lifeboats, the story uses their fascination with rescue vehicles as a gateway to understanding how the world works. Beautifully illustrated by Richard O'Neill, every page is filled with authentic coastal scenes that encourage children to spot familiar boats, equipment and landmarks while making connections with the world around them.

Children will discover:

  • How lifeboats help people in trouble at sea.
  • The volunteers who are always ready to help others.
  • Why finding people at sea can be challenging.
  • What to do if you need help at sea.

Sales of this book support Mundesley Lifeboat Station to save lives at sea.

Mundesley Lifeboat Station is an independent lifeboat station located in Norfolk. It is one of over 80 independent stations across the UK and Ireland. Unlike the RNLI, these services rely entirely on public donations and volunteers to operate 365 days a year, 24 hours a day to rescue people who need help at sea.

Since 1972 Mundesley Lifeboat has operated 365 days a year, saving lives on the beach and on the sea across their patch of the North Norfolk coast. Their crew consists wholly of volunteers, giving their time for free day and night, and risking their lives to help others. This truly is one of the best sides of humanity which we need to show to our children to inspire them about the world we live in.
